Strong finish for Val over the final km of the run - Looking Great Girl!

despite the rain Chris was having fun and running strong

The weekend was a busy one with the completion of the TransRockies on Saturday, Crescent Beach Tri on Saturday and then Kelowna Tri on Sunday.  So, lets start in order so that would be finishing up the TransRockies with the final leg being from Sparwood to the lovely town of Fernie, BC.  The boys of Team Baja(Trever and Art) finished up the week strong with a final placing in the top 15 of the 80M division - good on you boys - check out the Kodak Gallery link for all the photos of the race - an unbelievable experience and I will most definitely be back in some form or another - check out my blog in the next couple of days as I try to recap some of the weeks highlights.

As the boys were heading off on their final stage, Britni was hitting the ocean at the Crescent Beach Triathlon held just outside of WhiteRock, BC.  As always a great day was had by all and Britni finished 2nd but closing fast over the final kms of the 10krun.  Great job out there girls - pretty darn awesome those 40+ woman!

I got back just in time for Sundays Kelowna Apple Triathlon - a mainstay in the BC racing scene- to watch Val have some fun with some speed before she headed off to Hamburg, Germany for Worlds in just 2 short weeks.  Coming back strong after picking a fight with some poison oak in her travels through Oregon, Val is proving she is coming back strong as she finished 2nd in the 60-64 division and broke the 3hour mark again.  Also in that division Sue Abbot playing with some speed - taking the 3rd place on the podium.  Also racing on this day was my wonderful husband, Chris, having a great day out there and finishing in the top 20 of his age-category and going sub 2:30.  So although the typically warm and sunny temperatures of the Okanogan did not shine on the athletes - the warmth and joy of all the athletes, and spectators kept the athletes going - Great day out there to all of you.

So we know what is next.....IMC.  Fun times ahead in Penticton with the 25th running of the event.  Stay tuned and get out there and move!
