The end of a season ......a good time for transition
It seems that every year the triathlon season lasts longer and longer. I think however, it is fair to say that IMAZ (the second running of it this year) is a logical place to say good-bye to the 2008 season and welcome the transition to the "winter" season.
First, Congratulation to all the athletes that took part in the second running of Arizona -of note I do want to congratulate Melisa Angelone - some of you may follow Melisa's experience on her blog http://mommelisa.blogspot.com/ If you haven't checked it out I encourage you all to! It will inspire you to get out and move:)
2008 was a great season for Endurance Health and Fitness Athletes as we raced not only in North America but as always all over the world. Seems fitting it started with IM AZ in April and then ended in AZ in November. In between we enjoyed Val's trip to Switzerland which has inspired Sue, Ronnie and Sooz to travel there next year. Nancy had a fantastic time at World Duathlon Champs in Rimini, Italy. Brit and Val made their now annual trek to Hawaii, and in true Hawaii fashion those 2 dug deep. We had Mark and Melisa head up to Couer D'Alene and enjoyed the brain freezing temps of water. Following we had a HUGE contigent represented up here at IMC - not only did Brenda, Bill, and Nancy head up from AZ, but Ronnie returned to IM after 10years and Micheal tested the waters out again.
2009 is setting up to be even more exciting with races in Switzerland, Cosumel, and maybe even Austria. You will just have to stay tuned! In the meantime enjoy winter and all the joy that comes with this time of year!
Cheers,
Mel
