Warren and Brit - post Apple tri.....good job to a great couple!!

It is tough keeping up with everyone over the summer months - and it has been a while since we caught up with everyone so let's get started.......

The girls, Ronnie, Sooz and Sue Taylor took Europe by storm at IM Switzerland, lots of fun, lots of wine no doubt and of course some great lessons learned and racing done - how fantastic is it that you can travel 1/2 way round the world and do something you love and share it not only with friends but  also hundreds of like-minded athletes from all walks of life!  Very cool and thanks girls for taking on the challange!

The beginning of August found us travelling to Calgary for the inaugural Calgary 70.3. where Jim, Rick and Bobbi - took on the challange of new event.  A point to point course is always challanging but overall a great course and a great time for the athletes. 

This past weekend was the Apple Triathlon - we are so incredibly spoiled here in the Okanagon to not have to travel too far for world class events.  And the apple tri is that, a world class event with races for all levels.  The local Kal RAts had a great showing at the event and Britni had some fun playing with the short course specialist as she continues her build to IM Hawaii, not to mention her husband Warren looking pretty darn fantastic out there!!  Sue Abbot enjoyed her new age-group 65-69 - you- how cool is that!!!! And Sooz used this as a great tune-up for World's in just 3 short weeks.  Oh how that short stuff hurts so differently!?!?!?!  And I can not forget my husband Chris - he too is in a new age-group this year(40 - YIKES!!!) and he had an awesome time enjoying the spirit and the competition of the day.

In addition to the apple tri, also in the Okanagon this weekend was the kick off of the Cross-Country series with the Goofy XC- and Dawna enjoyed a "short" run as she starts her taper for her 100k in just 2 weeks time - fun times ahead....speaking of fun times ahead........

Of course the last weekend of August signifies only one thing here in the Okanagon, IMC is just around the corner! Wade, Kit, Kim, Christina and Jeannette are enjoying the taper(it is OK if you do not feel zippy yet!!) and looking forward to the weekend to come.

So, as we feel the slight change in the air as summer time flows into fall, we know it is a GREAT time to get out there and play!
