Ironman Canada - and the end of August, almost one in the same
In life there are always things that just go together - like hob nobs and earl gray tea, campfires and marshmellows and end of August and Ironman Canada. It neaver ceases to amaze me the change in the air, the change in the leaves just signifies that IMC has come and gone. But the expereinces, memories and no doubt a wee bit of the muscle soreness are still there!
A BIG congrats goes out to all the competitors, it was simply a FANTASTIC day! First timer's Jeannette, Kim and Christina can proudly display their medal and now they too are now part of that crazy IM family. Kit and Wade, displayed what it means to be multiple Ironman finishers, taking on the day when you know what lies ahead! In true Kit fashion he found a friend to enjoy the final miles of the Marathon - how cool is that to make new friends!
There is still tons of racing though still to be had in the 2009 season. Cultus Lake next weekend, Ironman Hawaii in just a few weeks , IM Arizona in November and of course new comer to the IM family - IM Cozumel.
So, if you are enjoying your recovery from the season - keep moving because you know you can, enjoy the cooler temps that come with September, for those of you with races in your near future, keep the focus and know you too will soon be on that start line, gazing out across the lake or sea anticipating the start of a great day!
Enjoy September and what it may bring for you,
Mel
