It's been awhile since I have experienced a true winter, but here I am the last day of January and this weekend I am getting ready to participate(please note the word...participate) in North America's longest Loppet(it's a Norwegian word meaning community event) held at my hometown mountain of Silver Star.  Basically it is 75km of x-country skiing.  I am doing this event with my good friend Jen Bond so we will each do 37.5km on Skate Skis.  Last night we checked out the course and I brought my camara seeing that I might be a bit busy this weekend when we are in the midst of it. 

Got some great shots with the moon and the setting sun.....you know the Great White North isn't such a bad place.....but I must admit that I am looking foward to my trip down to Arizona next week and some warm sunshine.
