Racing in June

For those of you not familiar with the Pacific Northwest June is typically a very wet month, I guess that is why, for the most part it is so pretty in July!  So, with that in mind for all of you racing out there this June, "Good on you!"

This past weekend found Daphne racing at the New Balance 1/2 in Victoria on Vancouver Island.  Daphne's key race this season it IMC so the New Balance 1/2 is always perfect timing to see where one's training is at in terms of the big picture.  Daphne has been struggling the past few months with an angry achilles, but with some rehab and time off running and adding water running to her regime she is now back  land running and so for her, this race really was about getting out there and enjoying what it is she can do.  Injuries are tricky, you need to respect them, and of course it would be great to go through a season or a career without them, but the reality is, you can learn so much from injuries.  It's like the saying, "If you love something let it go, if it comes back it was yours...."  That is how I like to view injuries, when you put in the time to rehab and come back from them you can come back stronger and healthier both phyically and mentally.  So, here is to the rest of the season: training smart and enjoying the process!

Next on board for Endurance H&F....IM Couer D'Alene.  Join, Melisa, D'arcey, Bruce, Marc and Brenda as they race through some of the prettiest areas of Idaho.

Enjoy and Train Smart!
