The Inaugural Vernon Swim Camp a Success!

Happy Canada Day!
Nineteen athletes came out to beautiful Kalamalka Lake to take part in the inaugural Vernon Swim Camp this past Saturday, June 30th. Under beautiful sunny skies, Tracey Shelley, Chris Spooner and myself went over some basics for open water swimming. Areas we reveiwed during the camp were:
- starts
- drafting
- sighting and of course......
- how to feel more comfortable in the water and not panic!
We believe the camp was a success and hope to make this an annual event, and get more people out there enjoying the waters of the Okanagan.
